Tomorrow as the world awakes two United States ships will deliver humanitarian aid to the beseiged Georgian port city of Poti. They will do this in defiance of the Russian threat to inspect all ships transiting the port o Polti. The US Coast Guard Cutter Dallas and the flagship USS Mount Whitney will enter the port of Poti while the destroyer the USS McFaul provides combat support.

Complicating matters is that now Russia has signed decrees confirming South Ossetian and Abkhazian independence. Still Poti is approximitly 30 KMs from the disputed border of Abkhazian. Any attack or violation of a US warship in Poti by the Russian we be an act of war, under all international laws. The Russians have no justification occupying this town and stopping humanitarian aid. The Russians are also threatening military action against the Eupopean missle sheild, Putian has told Poland to be prepared for nuclear weapons to be used against it.
